Bill Gates Engages with AKU and VITAL Pakistan Trust on Advancing Pediatric and Maternal Health Initiatives
In Islamabad, Pakistan, Bill Gates received presentations from Aga Khan University research faculty, Dr. Zahra Hoodbhoy and Dr. Muhammad Imran Nisar, Chairman of VITAL Pakistan Trust, highlighting the impact of BMGF-supported projects in pediatrics, and maternal and child health.
During a private meeting with AKU President Dr. Shahabuddin, Bill Gates expressed appreciation for the collaboration with AKU. They explored opportunities to enhance their partnership’s impact, especially concerning climate change.
AKU takes pride in its alumni, including Dr. Anita Zaidi (MBBS 1988), the founder of VITAL Pakistan Trust, who leads BMGF’s Gender Equality Division, focusing on improving the lives and livelihoods of women and children in South Asia and Sub-Saharan Africa.
