VITAL Pakistan Trust and AKU Host Collaborative Workshop with Gates Foundation on Pathway Project

VITAL Pakistan Trust & AKU (Dept. of Paediatrics and Child Health), held a two-day workshop with the Gates Foundation on the Pathway Project.

Initiated in 2019 with funding from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, the Pathways project investigates the social, cultural, and environmental factors influencing reproductive, maternal, newborn, and child health and nutrition. It integrates qualitative and quantitative data into an actionable framework, focusing on vulnerability. The project’s household segmentation categorizes households by their vulnerability to adverse health outcomes, aiding targeted interventions and program design for the most vulnerable populations.

The application of Pathways framework is vast, and will enable health organizations, policy makers, and government / non-government agencies to devise more tailored interventions based on varying needs of these segments.

Representatives of the Gates Foundation also had a follow-up meeting at the VPT Head Office to discuss the findings of the workshop.
